From Creators And Executive Producers Misha Green And Joe Pokaski And Executive Producer, Academy Award-winner John Legend, WGN America presents Underground. This past weekend, WGN America, in partnership with the Blackhouse Foundation during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, hosted a panel session with the cast and producer team of the upcoming series as well as an after party.

The 10-episode, hour-long, series will give you a glimpse and more knowledge over the underground railroad and follow the lives of actors using their skills, ingenuity, power and perseverance to keep going. The risks, dangers, and obstacles are unfathomable and showcases the strength and endurance one must have to survive.  

“Underground” features an acclaimed cast, including Jurnee Smollett-Bell (“True Blood,” “Friday Night Lights”), Aldis Hodge (“Straight Outta Compton”), Christopher Meloni (“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For”), Alano Miller (“Jane The Virgin”), ‎Jessica de Gouw (“Arrow,” “Dracula”), Marc Blucas (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), ‎Adina Porter (“The 100”), Mykelti Williamson (“Justified,” “24”), ‎Amirah Vann (“Girls,” “And So It Goes”),Johnny Ray Gill (“Rectify”), Chris Chalk (“Gotham”), Reed Diamond (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Theodus Crane(“The Walking Dead”), Renwick Scott (“Treme”) and Jussie Smollett (“Empire”).

The power of film is ever increasing over the years boundaries have been crossed and the pressing issues are being discussed and up for debate. Throughout the years television and film has crossed many milestones and has, in a sense, gives an empowering sensation for our generations and many to come.

Underground premieres on WGN America on Wednesday, March 9th!
